Big Butt Bike Seats? Sounds good to me! :-D

I seen the larger sized bike seats for those of us with big butts, I'm sure there's a more diplomatic term for them, but I dubbed them the "Big Butt Bike Seats" - and they look much more comfortable than those skinny little microscopic things they call a .... um .... bicycle seat.
Okay, here's my dilemma. My husband also has a big butt, but he told me he's gotten used to those microscopic seats. He said the regular seats hurt him at first (and he's been biking longer than I have) but he stood up, shifted around, and tightened his butt muscles and gradually got used to his seat. Me, I also have a microscopic regular seat on my bicycle, and even though it has an extra gel seat (which came with my bike) it still hurt the lower part of my pelvic bone area, and muscle area. Now I must concede that Hubby is correct that we can get used to it, as the first big fat bike ride we had I was so sore down there that I couldn't sit on anything harder than a couch for the next day. Well, I could, but the soreness was really bad, though. Now, it's not as bad, we biked 30-40km and I basically walked and sat weird for the next few hours but the pain did lesson, so I guess I'm also starting to get used to it. He says that it's good to avoid the comfort of convenience items because if we give into the temptations, then we wouldn't be able to get into shape. Hmm...sounds like Boot Camp logic, eh?
I still want to get that wider bike seat, I think it'll make my biking experience much more enjoyable. I'm wondering of any of you guys use the wider big butt seats yourselves, and are they truly more comfortable? Or do they promote bad ergonomics?

I have not got into a bike for decades, but I remember how the seat hurt. I think that we, girls, need to take more care of our butts and our "pieces" are different from men“s
. So, go get a good seat and have a glorious time biking. One thing is to accept evil temptations, and quite another to buy a seat that means that you will not have health problems. Remmber that, before you were born (maybe before I was born, women rode biks and horses with both legs at ne side. It was a health protection, not a temptation. Tell your hubby that temptation is to eat sweets when you are on diet

Hmm...protection from injury, ya, that definitely does make sense. I've only seen them in the stores now, though, every bike I see on the road they all have those skinny little ones on.

There must be spare parts, and even second hand ones, if you check online, friend. Those skinny ones are a pain on the a**!

Hmm, okay, I really do want to get one, and yes, us women do have wider hips, especially us mothers. I was just talking to a friend recently about it, and she's skinny as a rake and isn't a mother, she herself found it hard to sit on those microscopic bike seats.
