Faulty scales at Airports

Luggage - Faulty scales at airports

Already its costing quite a lot to fly and nobody wants to be paying anymore than they have to. So you'd think that the scales at the airport would be spot on and not cheat you out of precious vacation money. What do you think about this.....will you ask them to reset the scales to ZERO before you put your luggage on and find out how much you have to pay? Would you do all you can to ensure you pay the right amount? I had my disabled son weighed and he was 12.6 kg. I was shocked and very upset. About a week later on a different scales he was 13.75 kg. The dietician said possibly the hospital scales were incorrect! I am going to see her next week and I can't wait to find out how much he weighs now. I am a keen traveler and I have always imagined that the scales at airports are correct. I had a miserable time on Ryan Air with a 15 kg one bag for me and my disabled son then 13 months old. I usually fly on airlines that allow 20 kilos. I have just myself to carry the luggage so I bring three small holdall and the rest is hand luggage. I will ask them to set the scales to zero and add up the combined weight.

It would be worth it because they now charge for luggage. But maybe you can weight your luggage before you leave just to have an idea how much each bag weighs and if they say a lot more, maybe you can tell them. Sometimes we're afraid to argue but sometimes its worth it. Why pay more!! Sounds like scales arent precise anymore anywhere. Apparently, scales at the supermarket are wrong also!! So we pay and pay and keep on paying more than we should!!
