Only a pairs of ring in our wedding. It is both an engagement ring and wedding ring.
In my country, wedding ring is usually plain, only a small diamond. But an engagement ring is often more details than a wedding ring with larger diamond.
However, when I search in the Internet, I found that these two rings are almost identical designs and can interchangeably. Is it really so?
Wedding rings and engagement rings are different in your area?

I have often here seen where the engagement ring is very decorative with a center diamond in it. Then the wedding ring is a band that one wears first with the engagement ring also together after marriage on the same finger. Some wear plain decorative wedding bands too.

Generally here a wedding ring is quite plain and simple - just a gold/silver band and maybe some engravings, whilst engagement rings are much more decorative. Engagement rings vary a lot - from a single diamond central stone to a shaped design (like a flower) to three stones to a mix of gemstones and diamond.
As well as those many couples have eternity rings, which are usually given on special anniversaries, which are a band with lots of similar stones - eg all diamond, or alternate diamond and gemstone.

I just know the difference now:) Actually here most people won't have an engagement. We just get married when we feel like being together. So basically the engagement ring can be ignored. In the past I thought that the wedding ring should be much more expensive than the engagement ring because the wedding ceremony is the most important part than the engagement ceremony. And here usually the wedding rings are gold rings. And the husband may give his wife a diamond ring when he proposed.
I love China
