Inaccurate Directions At Work

You are trying to meet the deadline but your head office cant give you the accurate details to work on what are they trying to make you do. The online portal they made is not that helpful.
The data is everywhere.
How can you meet the deadline of this impossible inventory portal if they can not answer the simplest question out of it.
Will you do it by guessing what is what or wait for the reply until the deadline comes and get suspended by it?
Get suspended or just do it in mess?

I would say that although there is no absolute support and or directions I would do the best I could. I rather produce something then nothing at all. It really depends on the type of job but would always try my best to produce something.

For me, i would most definitely let them know that i cannot work with the system they are providing me because its a total nonsense. why should i pay for their unusable system. since it is an online portal, get the contact person of the group who made it, or who knows how to use it. why should you not ask help from them who was in there before you are and they sure are the only ones to help you.
do not suffer the consequences. act on it, let your boss know there are more to the whole thing than whatever you can see. yes there is an online portal but its useless. learn the requirements, ask, and do it if you need to do it manually then so be it.
