Buying brand

There are many things which called "luxury goods". The price of them is higher very much than normal. Example: th price of one Bulgari ring is about some thousand dollars while the true cost of it is only about some hundred dollars. In this situation, customers bought "brand". Do you think so? If I can sell you one ring which is the same quality, size, design etc... with one ring of Bulgari. But the price is lower than 1/3 the price of Bulgari ring. Which will you buy?

When it comes to jewelry, brand does not matter much, the true value of jewelry is still the weight in gold and amount(karat), if it's a stone then the 3 c's apply, that is carat, clarity or color and cut, this dictates the price more when you invest, pawn or resell so I do not buy branded jewelry if there is a similar item of the same quality, you will just be buying over priced that is very hard to dispose in case you need cash. With my clothes it's different, I buy branded jeans, just a few and wear them for a long time, my shirts are mixed (branded and not), shoes are always good brands because your comfort is at stake (both leather and rubber), I also buy expensive watch since I only buy one for a very long time. Socks, handkerchief and wallet is just cheapest kinds, sunglasses or eye wear also has to be good branded because it is for the eyes.

When it comes to jewelry quality for me is important, more so then the price. There are some middle of the road quality type ones I can opt for but since I like to have jewelry long term, it really has to be of good quality for me.

There are a few items that the brand name is better. In most cases though the cheaper brand is just as good. I would probably buy the lower price ring and be just as happy with it.

I always compare quality. Quite often, the cheapest thing I can get is no good when it comes to quality. But, there is usually one that is the same quality as the most expensive brand item which is much less expensive and saves me money. I always buy that one!

The world in which we are living is believe on brands but after financial ups and downs and the way China's cheap products are flooded with shops, everyone is going for cheap prices instead of brand because now things are for one month use which means every month new ring. Cheers :D
