Tiger Woods For President Cup?

Just read that Fred Couples, the captain for team USA has selected Tiger Woods into the team for the forthcoming President Cup. I just could not believe what I am reading when he (Fred) actually quoted that Tiger Woods is the best player in the world forever. I do not know what had gotten into his mind to ever come to such a decision and wonder how the morale of the rest of golfers in US are feeling. IMO, I felt that this is a rather unfair decision, for one Tiger Woods is never a team player as seen on many team debut in the Ryder Cup competitions where his performance had been dismal and disappointing. He may be a world champion but a tournament like the President Cup is a team event and players need to be team player who can maintain individual flair at the same time. Also, I am sure we are seeing a rather different Tiger Woods of late who is not only struggling with his personal life but game as well. Plagued with injuries and now, working on his stroke with a new coach - I just felt that it is too premature to select him into such an important tournament. Any comments?
