If you use Gmail for emails, you may have seen this new service. If you scroll down, there is a text on the left side with a picture of a phone and it says in your language something like "make a phone call"
Click there and you will get further instructions to fund your account and you will find the prices to lots of countries around the earth.
You will also find the prices to both landline phones and mobiles.
Those who live in the USA and Canada have free calls for the rest of this year.
Many countries have very cheap calls compared to ordinary phones.
You just need a microphone and headphones/speakers.
Has anyone used this new service? If you have, what do you think?

Yeah, it has been used in your part of the world for a long time, but it is now worldwide, so we can use it too..
I guess Skype has been around for many years, but I haven´t used it yet..I´m a bit slow with these technical things..

I haven't used this service. It sounds like it might be something like skype? I might try it sometime.. I've seen it but never investigated it.

Yes, it can be handy for outgoing calls, especially for long time ones and maybe conference calls.
For you it is free, so I don´t know if you even need to fund your account..no harm in trying..

Yes, I have used this service. It is very handy. However, I will not tie it to any of my other phones, because their voicemail service will become the primary and shut your existing one down. I use it primarily use it for outgoing calls only.

Great - another user that had tested the service for some time, thanks for informing us. It can be handy to use for outgoing calls, and if someone wants to call us, they can call from their Gmail to our phone..
I guess we´d better keep our ordinary phone, as this Gmail service can only be used for outgoing calls when our computer is on.
Thank you for your response..
