My little one has just started school full time. I am saddened that our time is over and the influences of the world are there. I am hoping that I have taught my child how to stand up and do what is right. To make good choices! The courage to say no to peer pressure.
I have greatly enjoyed being a stay home mom, we are close and have enjoyed our time together. So I am saddened it is over. It puts the song from ABBA to mind "Slipping through my fingers". Even thou the song was for an older child, it still stirs similar feelings in me. Childhood is so fleeting in this grow up world. In my day we played with Barbie until we were 10-12 yrs old and now its done with at the age 7. Sigh!
Unlike the song I do get to enjoy walking my child to the school a few blocks down the way and holding hands. I still get the goodbye kiss and the huge hug of little arms. The good stuff of life!
Any moms and dads feel torn up about thier kids being off to school? I got to explain butterflies in the stomach to my little one, who had apparently one hundred and fifty thousand of them in there, I held my tears back, I didn't want to add them to my child's butterflies. There were many moist eyes the first week of school and the majority was the parents!

Hey Joseph!
There are a lot of people who don't like school. However it is a good place to learn and build friendships. Without school we would not learn reading, writing and math. We also learn how to be around others, sharing and caring and being fair are thing we learn at school too.
:)
Take Care!
