Hockey board announce 25000/- cash reward to every player of team on winning Asia cup. Although game minster announce 150000/-cash reward. Are you think it is enough. When BCCI can give 1 crore Rs. on winning world cup than only 175000/- is enough. Hockey in India's national game.

hockey team of India said that government announcing amount is not up to the mark.so they added will not receive.in my opinion, the amount have to increse for each player.because it's a national game so government should b respect for that.

Dear friend, I had read this news in news paper, it was also known that that Rs.25,000/- was rejected by the players. What a pity the authority if is doing like this to them. Will they play for India again, I feel if any other country offer a better reward what is wrong in being with that country if own country is doing such injustice. I do not know what is wrong in Hockey, not only hockey I feel there are also other sports except cricket the price money or rewards are really low. This really effects the morale and motivative part of the sports man spirit and their hard effort on that sport. I feel they are not beggars they have made India proud. Mera Bharath Mahaaaaaaaaaan, Jai hind.

Hello, I am agree with you. Sports minster declared some more amount. 1.5 Laks. But I think it is not enough. When cricket board can give 1 crore for 6 sixes in one over than this where is justice.

I too agree with you that it is very unfair.I feel that first of all the hockey players should be given sportswear, shoes and also a daily allowance so that they are able to practice well and eat healthy diet. When they win the award should be a decent amount which makes them feel proud to have played for their country...The hockey board cannot be blamed because they said in an interview that they have no funds. The government and the sports ministry should take the blame for this...that's why the sports minister immediately announced the award of 1,50,000/-. Incidentally what the cricketers are getting is far too much, they are being pampered by everyone and even if a fraction of that amount is diverted to other sports things would far better ..

Are you think 150000 is enough? It is right that hockey board have not funds. But India government have enough funds. Government must be pay at least 1500000 to each player.

Anil, it is better than 25,000 and if they took care of their other needs,,I feel that it is good. They should be given allowances so that they are able to do better. In fact if the government and sports ministry has any good sense, they would cut down on the cricket expenditure and distribute the funds equally to other sportmen as well...

It is humiliating. A mere twenty five thousand rupees for achieving such a marvelous victory. What a shame!

What ? Yeah you are right. I mean is it a joke? Means hockey is our national game and so much difference. Govt. should really think about it. It can cause depression in the hockey players because when they see the Indian cricketers financially more strong than them, they can think of quitting the game.
