Dictionary.com defines cowardice as - noun lack of courage to face danger, difficulty, opposition, pain, etc. I am going to expound. You are a coward when - you always make excuses about unfinished assignments or jobs - you cannot confront someone for an alleged remark or comment and instead talk bad about him or her without verifying - you cannot defend a friend who has been with you for a long time and had been helping you at some difficult points in life - you make stories about someone who is 'more than you' as you perceived it - you take sides in a situation and you are neither a yes or no, or a true or false - you do not strive to be better The list may go on but people misconstrue the real meaning of cowardice. Others say that those who keep silent in a situation are cowards when what one needs before speaking are facts. Concrete facts, that is. A courageous person does not go to a fight without his supplements, or his arms, or without preparing. Have a nice day, everyone!

you see, i have just got into a situation again, with a fight actually with my wife and her daughter. as i have mentioned in that discussion today, as you said it is very important, i tried to talk with them in cool and calm mode. but after that incident, i still don't find the right time to talk with my wife. i am also afraid another misunderstanding and heated argument will happen. is this another gesture of cowardice?

actually, neil, only you could answer that question. i can understand that you are trying to find the right timing. it's ok as long as there'll be a day where you and your wife will find time to talk seriously about the situation. keep calm. don't let anger defeat you.
