What kind of legacy will you leave behind?

As you get older, you begin to wonder if anything you did ever made any difference. Is there anything I did that touched anyone in a good and positive way? Will anyone but my family miss me when I am gone? We all want to be able to touch the world in some way. I've been a cake decorator for 31 years. I've decorated the wedding cake for many couples. Many people have seen and enjoyed my work, but it was fleeting. It didn't last. The only proof I have of what I have created are the pictures that are online. But, so what? I hope I am remembered as being kind, or compassinate, or honest, or someone that people liked or admired for one reason or another. Most of us will never be famous. Is that enough of a legacy to leave behind?

I suspect I will never know what I have left behind. I hope there are people in Heaven today because I had a relationship with them, and I'm pretty sure some others will be. I hope there are some hearts that have been comforted by my words or inspired to keep on keeping on. I hope the words and stories I leave behind me on line will live on after I am gone and give one who is struggling some hope. Along the way I have sowed some seeds. Some are blooming, and I hope that as others cultivate and water more will bloom and bear fruit. As I live, I hope I will also cultivate and water the seeds others have planted before they passed on.
