The day after tomorrow the "Horror nights" will start on our neighbour island. An old castle is transformed into a haunted house that people can visit. There will be actors, decorations, mazes and lots of other things. Inside the castle there will be places called "Psycho custody", "The prison" and "Mystery place" etc and outside there will be "Ghost town" and "The swamp". I know that "Horror nights" take place every year in October, but I have never been there.
Have you ever visited a haunted house or other Halloween attractions? What did you think about it?

I would be very interested in visiting this event, but I live in Italy, and I know that similar events are not held in my state. Only the Halloween party, has been imported about 10 years ago.

In the past we didn't celebrate halloween either. When I was a child halloween was something that we saw in the American movies and not something that we celebrated, but that changed in the late 90's. My husband and I want to visit the Horror nights this year. It is a little expensive, but I would like to see the place and the mazes and how they have transformed the castle.

I also love horror stories, and I have read a lot of them. Some years ago my friends and I decided to spend the night in an old attic and tell eachother horror stories all night. It was a very dark was place and it created a special kind of atmosphere, perfect for a night full of horror stories
I would like to write my own collection of horror stories and those horror nights at the castle might be able to get me in the right mood...

My husband and I have talked about visiting the place this weekend, but the "Horror nights" will continue for one month, so if we don't get the chance to go there this weekend we will be able to visit the place later in October. I will write about my experience when I have seen the place. I have never been there before and neither has my husband so it will be a totally new experience for both of us. I hope that it will be a lot of fun, and I think that it will be interesting to see how they have transformed the old castle into a big haunted house.

I lived in a haunted house during three years. I knew it before I rent it, but I was not believing in ghosts. After three weeks there, I woke up in the middle of the night : somebody was walking in my bedroom, from a chimney to a window and back
. I switched on the light and... there was only the sound of a loud step
. During the time I stayed in this house, I heard often somebody walking, slashing the doors, and even cooking in the kitchen. It was nothing else than noise, and I never heard something similar before and since I have left this house.

It sounds scary to share your house with a ghost that you can't hear like you did when you lived in that house.
I think that our house haunted as well. I have never seen any ghosts, but my husband saw a ghost in the bedroom one night. It was different from your situation, because there was a no noise, but he could see the ghost. It showed up in the door between the bedroom and the hall and moved from the door to the closet in our bedroom. Then it disappeared. My husband said that it looked like a munk, but he wasn't able to see the face properly...
