A skinny, little old yellowish man was lying on bed. He can't stand, or even get out of bed. He looks very tired. He had this sunken eyeballs.
I happened to met this man during our visitation in our area. I invited her wife to come with us to our Church but she told us that she can't do it because she takes care of her ill husband. I asked her if what happened to her husband and she told me that her husband suffer from bladder stones as diagnosed by the physician. The stones caused him to have a very painful urination. Not only that, he also had peptic ulcer disease. It cause so much discomfort on his stomach and he can't even tolerate solid foods because it triggers the pain. He only eats pureed and drinks milk.
As I heard this, I asked permission from her if I can see her husband. She said it's okay, so i went in to their house. A very skinny man, yellow colored skin because of hepatitis appeared to my eyes. He can't get up from bed or even stand. He is bed-ridden, very ill. He lose hope already to get well. He didn't want to be admitted in the hospital anymore because of financial reasons. I almost cried when i heard him talking in a very slow speech, very hopeless. Even though I am a nurse but still i can't do anything just to relieved the pain he felt.
I shared to him the saving grace of Jesus Christ, the free gift of salvation. I was so happy because he repented from his sins and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal Savior and been assured that heaven will be his home. Also his wife and daughter do the same.
How about you my beloved mylotters, if you happened to be in the position of the ill man, do you want to be treated in the hospital knowing that your family members will suffer in finding money to pay your bills or just stay home and wait for your death? Is being poor in our society a hindrance in receiving quality health care? What should the government must be doing?

If it is proven that a person is unable to pay they should not be turned away from care. I think that there should be some pro-bono work going on for poort people. I think doctors make alot of money and they should give alittle of themselves when it comes to people and especially old people.
