I love getting a massage and I treat myself to about two full body massages a year. I would prefer to be able to get more but my budget does not allow it.
I love all types of massages that I have received. Of course, I have received several Swedish Massages but I have also received one Ashiatsu Massage and one Hot Stones Massage. I have been disappointed in a few of my massages but most of them have been very good to excellent.
I have wanted to get a Shiatsu Massage but have found some difficulty finding a massage therapist who does Shiatsu. I once had a sort of Shiatsu Massage. The massage therapist had taken a class in Shiatsu but had never really given one and had to refer to instructions while giving me the massage. She did ok but this was one of the disappointing massages.
It is about time for another massage. I am always looking for recommendations as to what type of massage I should get next.
So, what is your favorite type of massage and about how often do you get one?

Hello Boston! I get massages once a week. The massage rates here cost 250-300 pesos an hour. I love Swedish the most. I intend to try the ventosa one of these days though. If i may ask, how much does the massage there cost?

I live in Austin, Texas. The market rate for a massage is $60 an hour. I go to a budget place which charges $39 for an hour but you are expected to tip the massage therapist $10 to $15. The massage therapists are usually good but they are persons who have not yet established their own practice. It may be that they are young or newer massage therapists. They work at this business while they get established.

Many of us here in the Philippines try to get a weekly full body massage. It relieves us of all those stresses accumulated in the body due to work and home related matters.
After getting a good massage, one feels so invigorated and life filled again.
Normally, my son is the one who do me a full body massage. I perform massages on myself if it only involves the head, face, neck, shouldes and the hands and feet.

For me, the best type of massage will always be the hilot pinoy style. It is a therapeutic massage type which seeks to treat whatever are the aching parts of the body is in existence. It is a full body massage. There are points in the head wherein the veins would need some soft touches, then the face, the neck, the shoulders, the chest and the back, all points down to the feet.
This type of massage is best done in the comfort of your home so you can immediately get that sweet sleep soon after the therapist has gone out that door. At times, one feels hungry right after the massage. So take a light meal and then sleep. Have a sweet, nice sleep then...
To have it once a week will just be great.

Thanks for the information. I like to experience different types of massage. I have never heard of this type of massage. I am going to do some research on it. I do not believe that it is offered at the massage business I go to. Maybe it is called something different in The United States. But it sounds great.

My favourite type of massage is head-and-shoulder massage. (Sorry, I know that's not exactly answering the question you hv in mind.) I had tried a type of massage where aroma oil was used, and it was done by an Indonesian lady. I can't remember the term. An ex-colleague dragged me along. It was a full-body massage...and I felt very uncomfortable being touched. (I wasn't allowed to cover my body with a towel or sth.) So nowadays, I wld only go for head-and-shoulder or foot massage where I cld be fully clothed.

Massage brings comfort to mind and body. Massage relaxes our muscle from 9-hour work in the office.
I tried getting a massage from one of the parlor here in the Philippines, and it really satisfies me. I got Shiatsu Massage, it was great and the therapist is cute too.

Massage is wonderful, I agree. It relaxes. I hope to eventually get a Shiatsu Massage. I am working on it.

How lucky for you! I have had many friends give me short massages free. Some are trained in massage. Others have no massage schooling but they still do a good job. I wish I had someone close to me who was a licensed massage therapist.
