The time has come again were we're hiding towards the end off the year again and lots of places and charities asking for your help to donate things like "Food, Clothing and Money" for the needy and homeless. At my work right now they doing a clothing drive for the Salvation Army and Safe Nest......I donated a couple very nice sweaters. Next Month we're be doing a Food Drive for Thanksgiving to give to the less fortunate Families who can't afford a nice Thanksgiving Meal, and the at the end of November we do the Angel Tree were you pick a gift of a little Christmas Tree and you buy it for that certain person that's specified on the tag. Their ages vary from newborn to adults and that 1 is my favorite event. Do you have any favorite charities or events that you look forward to?

Hi missybear. The only charity I ever give to are the animal ones. I figure, people can help themselves and in most cases can turn to family for help but animals have no-one to help them or to speak for them.

See if there's a shelter, or vet or SPCA. You can give them old towels as they go through lots, especially the vet. You might also be able to donate an hour of your time once a month maybe or something. Even if it's just walking dogs a little bit or sitting with them.

There are always a ton of charities doing stuff this time of year. I usually give something to most all of them I come across. We have a thing at work where each department is assigned a family in need and we all chip in and provide Christmas presents and food for a huge Christmas dinner. It's a nice way of helping out. There are usually about 10-15 families assisted.

That sounds like a wonderful thing to do and I always give some kind of can goods or dry food when it comes to the Thanksgiving donations. i donated 2 sweaters last week when they put up the bin at work and so far my 2 sweaters are the only thing in there

Hello Missy Bear Sorry for missing this topic but i have once again been fairly less active only to recover in force near the end of the year, like always. I have donated through out the year, but the most recent just a few days ago from paypal to WFP (World Food Programme) and also i have played their free rice game for 1500 grains of rice. I have 2 other donations in mind, one is to WWF ( haven't decided yet if WWF Romania or WWF Global, US). and Tree Nation ( i have a forest of dedication to Sir David Attenborough there, and need 12 more trees to reach the next stage of the forest). Oh and for WWF Romania both me and my girlfriend are donating time the upcoming two weekends as volunteers for the Forests fund raising. As for donating clothing, and other articles, we did that in the summer, and will probably do so near Christmas again. Take care dear !

You are really into donating your time and money, that's wonderful. Everybody needs a little help sometimes especially around the holidays.
