Being a citizen of one’s country , each and every one of us have the obligation to report anything that we see could endanger the lives of others, without having to jeopardize ourselves .
It is perhaps with this in mind primarily, that this particular TV show of ABS , is running on TV patrol.
Problems like too many entangled wires, precariously hanging on a leaning electrical post , near the houses when reported to the show, with video and picture to document it , was immediately given attention and remedy by MERALCO.
Canals that are filled with filth were also remedied at the soonest, once it was reported to that show.
But should it always be like this? If it wasn’t reported on TV, it would remain unresolved by the concerned agency. How I wish that even without that, the community officials could act immediately on such concerns.

that is the problem we have in our local governments.
if these things would not be publicized then they won't do anything about it.
it is very depressing since we have appointed them to do these works for us but then they don't. when could we see change if these people would not change?
they are just too selfish!

Correct! and they always want to be advertized for something they have done, out of a problem brought out in the open on TV! Little do they know that their way of having to act on a problem just because it's televised , gives them a negative rating.

There's a similar portion on TV 5 hosted by Erwin Tulfo. Although it's really sad to think that people who are suppose to be doing their job still require some airtime just for them to do it and get praises in the process. I think they should shame them on live TV and not say thank you. That way, they would abhor when TV networks call their attention. That way, there will no more five minute fame but more like 5 minute infamy.

Correct ka dyan Ybong!
But if those officials who responded to the call for help of the show , will carefully watch the details of the show, the moment it went on air, they should feel some shame for themselves. It has been already announced that the said problem has been a standing problem ever since, but when it was shown on ABS Ipatrol Mo. it was acted upon. That alone is an evidence that had it not been aired they will not act on it.
Thus, it only shows that they only want it to be known to the people that they did something to solve it.

I think it's great that we have the media is doing their best to help out a lot of people who are in need of FAST government service. sad to know but if the government was doing their job with adequate man power, then there's no way that this can happen. Have a nice day and good luck to future BMIO people

Yes, it is indeed great that the media is playing a big part in exposing some bad things as well as some things needed to be given attention in some communities. And they know that even through cellphone, one could easily relay a video or a picture of the subject , so it could be shown on TV and be given attention by concerned parties.
Sad though, that it has to be this way sometimes, just so it could be given a solution.

Most officials are too busy on some concerns, it takes some air time program, which they always liked to be on, to get things done. Adds up to their publicity, as usual.
That reflects the mentality of most citizens: bad things should be hidden and the good ones are publicized. We should report most of the bad ones to mitigate their effects.

Yes, we should all do that. There's always our celllphone with us to take a picture of a bad event that happens so suddenly. That's what the program is all about.
