xfce, cool..

I just installed xfce in ubuntu11.10,it is lightweighted-works faster than gnome and unity.Anyone here who also love xfce?

Yes, it is certainly fast. Although being a long term user of KDE, I find it very limited in use. Yes, if it's there by default on the distribution, it's OK, but otherwise there are a lot of other light weight window managers which look and feel more like KDE or Gnome. But that is the nice thing about Linux - we can swap and change things just how we like. Never going to get bored, are we?

I can not agree more.There are so many wms to choose from in linux,it is cool.I think kde is the most splendid one,however,the netbook I am using need a light-weighted wm.I just try lxde,xfce,fluxbox,awesome..they are only a little number of the total options.Now I think fluxbox and awesome are too lightweighted that it need more customizing,while xfce and lxde need not.I think I will stick to use one of them for a long time.Thanks for your responding!

i used to install xfce as my desktop manager but now i prefer lxde. Anyway i just find an Ubuntu based distro called bodhi linux, and it use enlightment as desktop manager, i haven't try it yet but i'm really interested in trying it.
