Seems to me, that the US has raised everybody to believe that they are capable of doing anything.
Clearly that is a lie.
The Americans have industrial capability, but raw capitalism is destroying that. The lusting for more more more is taking away the competitive edge.

it seems a bit wrong for someone not from the US to comment on their politics, though if anyone from another country wants to say anything mean about the UK prime minister david cameron, i really don't mind.
but yes it does seem a bit unfair that obama is getting the blame for the economy when most of what went wrong happened under bush, though the glass steagal repeal actually happened while clinton was president. but the problem its seems to me is about income distribution, rather than reducing taxes for the rich. i read a really interesting thread about food shelves recently on mylot, and i suspect one of the reasons the US isn't going to get out of this mess is to do with the lack of welfare payments, unless you had a good job, when you get a proportion of your income for a while. but there seem to be a lot of people just struggling to survive, and so it creates a downward cycle. but obama has probably failed to direct economic stimuli in the right direction, using i think, from what i've read, supply side solutions. but then i don't see how he could deal with the inequality issue, as there is no political will for that sort of thing, i suspect.but anyway its all too long and complicated for a mylot comment. but you're right, he really should not be getting the blame.

Well I am from Canada, and subjected to airing of the laundry.
I am also an interested observer and actually affected by the decisions that are made by them. So I think it is only fair that I chime in. Besides, I can't vote although it makes me happy when someone thinks about what I write.

the US economy is massive, so the reality is that what happens there actually affects the whole world, so it is in reality everyone's business.
also our UK tory poliiticians have a nasty habit of habit of holding up the american free market economy as a perfect example of how things should be run, so though its terrible to see it all going wrong, at least it is a useful weapon in the ideological battle against the lunacy of free market economics.

I am sending you a PM. I know who you are but I can't match your name to your handle...
We share a common foe then. Haha

I welcome those outside the US chiming in with their opinions about what is happening in the US political scene.
I'm surprised though, most Canadians feel America is a great place. Heard one of your fellow country men on Mark Levin's show and he was truly scared for America due to the insane economic and foreign policies of this administration.
I don't truly get what you mean when you say 'roasted' the US...
As for Obama taking blame, I see him trying to shift the blame. All we ever hear from him is apologies for the past administration's policies to other countries and when it comes to any economic problem, it's all Bush's fault...STILL. Even after three + years he still can't own the mess we've been in. And btw, Clinton is responsible for the bubble bursting, he's the one who demanded affordable housing for everyone, even those with very poor credit ratings.
