Well girls I am almost half way on the first page of the Fairy Bride
I have to say she is so much more delightful to work on than my last piece.
The colors are all pastels and it really is a pleasure to work on even though I am doing it on 22ct.
For those of you that don't know the difference in the counts, 14ct is usually the one most projects are worked on.
What that means is 14 holes to an inch or fourteen X's to make the cross stitch.
So I have sized the piece down to 22ct which means 22 x's to an inch.
yep I know I am crazy. But it seems to be going well.
I am adding the picture here of the fairy bride and hope all enjoy seeing it.
Soon as I have page one finished I will post here in our cross stitch of mylot.
I hope it encourages others to pick up the needle and stitch. I can hardly wait for it to get cold enough to have a fire. And believe it or not at the top of florida we do get down in the 30's so I do enjoy a good fireplace!
Happy Stitching to all the cross stitch friends on mylot.

I was waiting for my massage therapist to show up today so I knitted on an afghan I am working on for my daughter's husbands little boy.
He is only 7 and I made afghans for my baby granddaughter and decided to make one for his bed.
I am working on the 4th roll, with 4 more to do. have to say I am never idle LOL

You better believe it!
I got up and went to Paneras and had a bagel and hot tea this morning.
I took the cross stitch along and sat outside and enjoyed the air while stitching a hundred stitches.
Felt good to be outside for a bit!

She's lovely, as all brides are purported to be.
What size will this end up?

Since I am doing her on 22ct the finished size will be 9 inches wide by 12 7/8 inches long
If I had been doing her on 14ct it would have been 14 1/4 x 201/4
I figure if I make it smaller that maybe people would tend to keep it as there is so much time and effort into one of these pieces.
I figured it I had made it the 14ct, then people would see this piece to have to fit on A wall by itself and no room for anything else and would eventually send it to GoodWill or throw it away.
So I figure maybe there is a good chance they might keep it if its made smaller.
Just my way of hoping and thinking.

I thought you were doing this one for yourself?

Wait til you see the piece I am also working on. Just started it 2 days ago.
Will try to get a picture of it posted later today.
I guess the other piece had such dark and so much black in it, it was depressing.
Now that I have turned to a lighter piece it seems to be a relief.
have a wonderful day.

That looks like a great picture! How far have you got on it now? I am about four months behind so you may already be finished with it for all I know. I am going in order on the discussions again so it may be a while before I catch up with any telling of your progress. I know the free designs you sent were all on 25 count and those are hard for my poor eyes to see! When I got the material to do the one you suggested, there was a pattern that had a lot less colors and I worked on that while I was in the hospital over the holidays. I haven't taken it out since then though. I really should because it was going quite well. Have a great week!!!

I hope to be on here a little more often now. Knowing that something takes 15 pages of stitching is kind of scary to me. I think 6 is the most I had before. I have a lot of the 25 ct material now so I think I'd better use it, but I think in the future I might look into the conversions because that size is hard to see. I have to take off my glasses and get it close and then I can't do anything else without putting my glasses on again. Oh well...
Sounds like a lot of baby blankets! Those are fun too. I did a couple with crochet just for fun because they were in the book I had bought teaching me how to crochet. I haven't done that in years, but I do remember having lots of fun doing it and I even sold a couple of the blankets I had made. Have a great week!!!

meant to add, just because it says 25ct you do not have to do it on 25ct. I use a cloth conversion table to see what size it would look best in and what size I am likely to get it finished, and what size won't cost me an arm and leg to have matted and framed!
Happy Stitching!
