Innocent People Being Punished and Guilty People Going Free?

Here in the US, many innocent people are accused of crimes and end up spending many years or even life in prison. At the same time, many guilty people are not being charged and do not have to spend any time in prison, they just get to go free.
This happens with all sorts of crimes, from robbery to murder!
What do you think needs to be improved or implemented to prevent this from happening? Is there even a way to prevent it from happening?
Please, share your thoughts! What would you suggest be done about this issue?

Wow, I wonder out of all my notifications, why I didn't receive any from you?? I seriously hope that glitch is taken care of..
As for your discussion, I really don't know if anything can be done because sometimes it is hard to tell who is guilty and who isn't. I know one system that is out of control and that is Children's Services. I think it started out as a really good plan, but now when someone over reacts to a situation, that can cause as much damage to a child than abuse itself, if there is even abuse. Sometimes a parent properly correcting their child is called abuse and when that happens, and Children's Services gets involved, it messes the child up...

I can't think of anything either... it's really sad that stuff like this happens in the world. I wish the world was a better place, but wishing isn't going to get this world anywhere. Someone needs to do something, I don't know what, but something needs to be done.

It makes you wonder where the justice is in this world. so many innocent people are wrongly accused and victimized. The guilty seem to be given more and causes top be free. it just doesn't seem right or fair.@Angelee_27 (3460)

Exactly... it's horrible.
I keep thinking there must be away to prevent it from happening, but I don't really know what can be done. I was hoping my fellow myLotters would have some good ideas.

Unfortunately I think "big brother" has to get bigger and bigger to watch what is going on. Witness testimony can be faulty, but if our every move were recorded whoever does the crimes would be recognized and prosecuted.

There is nothing that can be done,i think it is happening on every country, if you are a rich person then it will be much easier to stay away from prison even if you did something bad and if you are a poor person and you can`t afford a lawyer then it will be very hard to defend yourself if you have a problem even if you are not guilty.

I suppose there are many more poor people who are wrongly accused and punished than rich people.
It's really sad how the world works.

It's the sad truth. Many innocent people go to jail to pay for the sins of other people.
I think this problem is very hard to be solved.I don't really know what to say about it.
Maybe they shouldn't punish people until they are proven guilty.I know this is hard to do since the complainant will want the accused to go to jail as soon as possible once it is captured.
