I received an interview invitation for a farm worker in Canada. The qualifications are: 1. finished at least high school or vocational course 2. knowledge in farming grapes an advantage but not a requirement 3. no age limit, male or female I have already checked the agency in POEA site. It has a valid license, but my friend told me that before there were many victims of this kind of job posting: apple and grape picking. Most of them sold their property just to give the exact amount the employer was asking them for them to work abroad: Canada and Australia. It was a scam! Have you heard of this job posting yet? What is the best advice that you can give me?

Cher913, thank you very much! Yes. I also have other pending interviews. Based on my research, a farm worker earns $9 + per hour. Is it true?

It is advisable to contact Canadian embassy, I was sure they have all the information you needed. Don't go to someone who never in charged with working abroad. That's all I can add and please be aware of job offer working abroad. Okay

I am not sure about it. I have seen a lot of that job in a Canadian government website. But has never heard or known anyone yet who have experienced applying on that job. I don't think that all Canada and Australia jobs are scam. But normally when you want to apply in these countries, there will be a lot of requirements like taking up and passing the IELTS and the proof/employment certificates that you have worked on a certain period (I think 3 or 5 years experience) on the position you have applied to. Good luck and make sure you do your research on the net before taking it seriously or being so pessimistic about the offer.

You have a point, enelym001! If it is a legal job offer, there would be lots of requirements. If it's scam, there would be promises which are too good to be true! Yes. I am also researching, and I am also applying for other jobs so that I have more options.
