I have body posture especially with my bend back..Maybe I always carrying too heavy bag when I was a student..Now, it seems disasters to fix it and make it straight.. I have tried many ways to improve my body posture..I have tried to join fitness program, Yoga or even buy some equipment to straightening my back..However,none of those method works..I observed maybe my bad habit when sitting and walking is also having influence to my failure..What do you think? Do you have any effective method to improve body posture? Do you mind to share it to me? I prefer to have something that able to fix my problem permanently..

We have the same problem. I am also looking for ways to improve my body posture. There are tings that I have already tried, like always being conscious of your posture, and they help me a lot, but not enough. I need more ways.

For me yes it is good but if you always stand erect then you have good posture anyway keep up the good work.

I get the sense that you are not currently exercising. It is time to start exercising my friend.. Cardio is always good! Our hearts need it and it gets the blood flowing better all over the body, but I would suggest something that will also help strengthen your back, such as rowing or swimming. You also need some strengthening exercises for your torso, abs, back, and shoulders;as well as stretching exercises for your chest, neck, and shoulders.Be careful about training the shoulders--easy to injure and hard to recover from.Starting excercising vigorously can cause injury, tiredness and discomfort resulting discouragement and dishearten.Respect your range of motion and limits. As you work the strength and range will get better. Nothing beats Yoga for the core and posture work.If you have a Yoga studio near you or a gym that offers Yoga go check it out! There are also some good DVDs available.

My friend says wearing high heeled shoes and sandals during your younger years can help you stand straight and with right posture.I tried that with my daughter, she has been wearing high heels since 3. Even the sleepers she is using in our house were all with high heels. They say she walks like a model and stand and walk without difficulty. With what i saw in her,i tried that myself too and i can say that its working.. And of course yoga also will help you a lot.Been to some yoga class and i can say it really helps, makes me relax as well. :-)

Having a good posture will help your bones work properly. But during the time we are still young, we never notice our posture, we move here and there, we bent, we stoop, we sit without thinking of our posture. But as we grow old, we realize that good posture in needed, like in sitting, we should always lean our back to chair so our backbone will not bent and have a relaxing posture especially when you have a work that needs you to sit up to 8 hours or more, you should sit properly so you'll not suffer backache.

I have a scoliosis which is a curve an twist of the spinal column, I also have a visible back or rib hump. In order to help my spine I have done Quigong, which also helps with the pain, and also other types of energy healing. With them I have seen visible improvement and a great improvement in my pain.
