Just a while ago, my sister and I were cooking pasta. What we have was:
-three day old cold pasta that we steamed to warm it again
-onions and garlic
-tomato sauce and paste
-salt, pepper, brown sugar
-san marino corn tuna
Yeck, we mixed it all together, at first it tasted okay, but later we felt sick eating it. my mom was in the province, so she's not there to help us cook. My father gave us the money for the ingredients. It was disgusting, too sour, i think i should have added more salt and sugar. I also forgot about the cheese... -sigh- I'm not going to cook this experimental recipe again.
Have you ever cooked something so horrible and then you had to finish it yourself because it would be a waste to just leave it?
By the way, I'm a newbie at cooking, so it's forgivable. LOL!

Dear Aja,
Yes, this sounds totally disgusting, but as you said you are a newbie at cooking so mistakes will happen. I am glad you did not suffer long term ill effects. It is not a good idea to warm up 3 day old cooked pasta. It had probably gone sour. Let me tell you a secret about cooking. Fresh and simple is a good combination. Try freshly cooked pasta, al dente (still a little crisp) with a little butter in which you swished some garlic cloves finely chopped. Sprinkle with cheese and fresh herbs. Delicious! Any pasta left over??. Next day make a pasta salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, onions and mayo. Eat it that day. Or make a soup the next day and put in the left over pasta. Next time you make a tomato sauce start with a little oil in the pan, put in your chopped onion and garlic. Saute until glassy, add tomato paste and tomato sauce, add some herbs. Taste it and if it needs more sweetness add a tiny amount of sugar. Tase it again and let simmer for a little while. This sauce in a clean jar in the fridg will keep well for a few days. You can use it to preare a lasagna, as a base for chili or minestroni soup. You can also cook up some fresh pasta, heat up this sauce put it over the pasta and add some parmesan and other cheese. Don't forget to chop up some green herbs such as parsley or cilantro and sprinkle it just before serving.

Dear linda, i really love how you express your self with those dishes..it seems you really have a heart and soul in cooking.. I love it!
Those pasta are all yummy but do you not eat meat? I notice that you have all sauce with you and no meat incorporated with it...
I love to cook also and i tried so many things. I keep on repeatedly doing it so i will come up with delicious recipe..

thank you linda! you sure know a lot about pasta, thank you for sharing your knowledge.
yeah, i did anticipate the pasta would be bad. it was heated twice already. i didn't want to see it thrown away, pasta is expensive LOL. so i nagged my father to help me afford the ingredients and i couldn't cook immediately since i had another appointment. so that happened. ahha. and then i don't have any herbs, my ingredients were extremely limited.

yes, when i was new at cooking i made several things that even the dog would not eat.now i guess you have learned that pasta will go bad even in the frig.
just a while back, since i seldom cook any more, i made chili of which used to be one of my best dishes. my cousin said since we all have touchy stomachs these days, i should put in a little sugar to cut the acid. its how she makes it.
well needless to say, everyone complained it wasnt like i used to make it and i ended up eating most of it. lol@Aja103654 (5644)
