Philosophy subject

I have to write a term paper for my philosophy class. I can't just write about existentialism or Plato. I have to write on some aspect of it or apply it to some modern thing. What are your ideas? I liked existentialism, pantheism and Buddhist philosophy the best. I'm just looking for a creative spark. Any ideas?

I've a question, how does existentialism affect, if at all, the breakdown of the nuclear family? Does existentialism play a part in the breakdown of the extended family? Are child murderers, as in school shootings, an existentialist extention of lack of meaning in life?

Wow. That's pretty deep. We just started on existentialism so I will have to get back to you on that one.

I think that existentialists would not do shootings at schools, because they would feel, "what is the point?"
