I love to play scrabble, it is how I whine down from a hard day of writing. Writing when you do it for a living can be very exhausting. I am not as fit as I used to be and I tired easily now.
One thing I like to do for pleasure is to play scrabble. I am a member of a site that has teams and we play games all the time.
It is coming toward the end of the year and the site has a big scrabble tournament that starts in December and runs the entire month. It is huge and there are lots of games to play.
I love it.
However, I don't even know if I have the time this year to play the big tournament, I have so much writing to do and I will be taken on a managerial job as well. But will I have time for the tournament that I love so much. I just don't know and I have only a few more days to decide.
Have you had to drop something that you love to do because you don't have the time anymore?

I remember playing alot of Scrabble with my mother. She and I had that in common. And my ex and I did some also. Both enjoyed words. Sounds like you are going to be busy. I like to play Farkle on Facebook or the hidden picture games. I play some word games on Pogo sometimes.

I do drop something that I love to do because I don't have time. Hmm, however it is risk that we should face. But, I think you should spend some time for yourself. To do what you like to do. What I mean to say is.. you should have a lazy day...
I want to do writing for a living. :P I write for some websites like Helium, Wikinut.. and my own blog.. But it doesn't earn me a living yet.. :)

I do take a lazy day but when you have contract work, you then have to make the deadlines, you have no choice.

I love to play scrabble too. That was one of my favorite games before, pretty much addicted. But, I had to leave it for the very same reason you are saying, that is just too busy with so many things in the course of each day. I miss those years, and wish I would have the chance to relax playing scrabble again as much as I like to.

I also love Scrabble. But, I prefer to play by myself. I have a regular routine that starts after the news at night. I start off with Mahjong. This is my favorite game. I have several versions. When I get tired of it, I play Bookworm. This is a long game. If I have enough time after this, I can play either solitaire or spider solitaire. But no matter how late it is, I always end up with Free Cell.

Just about everyone who depends on their own efforts to make a living has to make sacrifices. For a long time I had to give up my favorite thing in the world...reading. It took me about 8 months to read one book when I stayed so busy writing. I have more time due to illness so I'm reading regularly now. I'm happy about that. I'm not happy about having back problems but I'm glad to not be killing myself writing.

I would not have been able to do it if I still had my managerial job because that job was very demanding but because my computer is not working I lost that job no more managerial job,
so the decision is easy I have time to play in the tournament because I do not have any really demanding deadlines for writing to meet.

I love playing scrabble, and I'm getting better at it. I have a really fun scrabble app on my iPhone, and play with that quite often. It's really good practice for me, especially when I get together and play with my unbeatable mother. LOL

Play is good but you should not to spend so much time sitting in front og a computer or a game.
Have you walked today?
I walked, i noticed the trees in my street, i heard the birds singing..
Now, that's life.

Speaking of having no time for something we used to do, i am at that now.
Since, we had our compressed working hour at our office just the other month, to compensate for the 3 hours (half day) we are supposed to have on Saturdays, i always get to arrive at the house from work, at around 7:30. That left me with no more time to do some exercise, because in a few minutes it would be dinner time.
I miss exercising after office hours - from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. Now, i just have the Saturday to do my exercise. Sundays would be full of household chores, but that for me is already an exercise.
I feel so sluggish and weak, now that i am not able to do my exercise.
As for your favorite game, you have to weigh things. But, i know one's priority is to earn money, my friend.

Life is too short not to take out some time for yourself. I know this first hand. I used to love playing some of the games on Facebook, but then I began to get caught up in trying to earn extra money online & also with my housework as well. Soon before I knew it months had gone by I had not taken any time to play any of the games I used to love to play. So I say no matter how busy you are make sure to take out some time for yourself, but time lately seems to just fly by & before you know it your one or two years older.

I have to make the deadlines or I will lose my jobs, I cannot risk that, the tournament is huge and takes up a lot of time. I just don't know that I can do both

Hi dear, I also write and find no time to play my loved games like scrabble and book worm and do other hobbies like crochet. I think money is important and deadlines are all the more important. So take a wise decision and go ahead. We do need a 'me' time for ourselves to de stress. playing games is a nice way to relax and many people are hooked on to face book. If it is going to take a lot of time, you can make a timetable for yourself and decide the schedule. best of luck.

I guess first thing you should do is to straighten up your priorities.
because in decision making, you put the most important thing for you first, then comes the the less important things to you.
if your top priority is your work, you would want to finish it first, and vice versa.
