Christmas decorations.. and the time to put them up?
I’ve seen a lot of houses that already have their Christmas decorations up.. and they have had them up from November.. THE START of November. All these people must have a serious problem. I mean it was only Halloween at the end of October!! And they take their Halloween decorations down and put Christmas ones up in their place? I just think it’s a little crazy..
Now I don’t know about anyone else, but Christmas to me means December. 1st of December.. up goes the dream. And a few days after New Years Day.. down it comes?
And I was also told growing up.. that putting your Christmas tree up before the 1st of December was also bad luck??
What do you think about this?

Well let me tell you that Christmas in the Philippines starts as early as September. We call it the "ber" month. Ber month signifies the beginning of the Christmas season. AS early as that you can hear Christmas songs on the radio but only at the wee hours of the morning. And you can also see Christmas decors for sale on the shopping malls.
People shop for Christmas gifts as early as this time and yeah some put up Christmas decors in their home.
In my case i don't put it up until December first or later.
Cheers.

You're the same as me - we always put tree up on 1st December and usually comes down 2nd or 3rd Jan depending on when we get time! This year it might be couple of days late going up as we are both in work until late on the 1st and as we have a real tree, the place we buy it won't be open late enough so thinking I will go get it either on the 2nd or 3rd December. Can't wait - not long now! : )

I follow the tradition of my native country. Christmas tree should be decorated on Christmas Eve just few hours before great supper. As for all decorations so I think house should be decorated few days before Christmas. This year I saw in shops decorations around September. That is really crazy.
