A Filipino man convicted on drug trafficking charges was executed in China on Thursday despite an appeal for clemency from the President. I just read this article and somewhat as a Filipino I feel sorry for our fellow Filipino but I will also respect the law in China. I know that there's a lot of us who'll be giving fair or unfair comments about the Chinese government. But lets face it. They have laws against drug trafficking and they are serious about it. I just hope that our own government is also serious about punishing people who are connected with drug trafficking. This should be a lesson to all of us. But what about our own country? Should our government decide on reviving the death penalty? One of my friends said that this will also help on minimizing the tax that is being used in feeding and taking care of inmates in jails. Our jails are already overrun by inmates and having a death penalty can lessen the inmates or even the law breakers. Is my friend right about what he said? There's truth about it but this is not the only reason why death penalty should be revived. What do you think are the other reasons for reviving the death penalty in the Philippines? Do you agree or disagree on reviving this penalty? Will it be effective in the future and will lessen the crimes in our country?
