There are more and more earthquakes, and there are higher and higher magnitude earthquakes on our planet. Yesterday in China, there happened 5 earthquakes in 5 different province, though the magnitude is all about 3. But it is unusually to have so many earthquakes in one single day. Some people believe it is related to the total lunar eclipse, while others don't agree. They are afraid of what in the movie of 2012 is really coming.

The power of nature! Whatever advances man can make in any field, nature will run its own cause when it is due, which man can do nothing to stop. Earthquake is terrible. The one happened in Sichuan two years ago is still vivid in my memory. I really feel pity for the people who have to live on those known earthquake belts. I think the governments of those areas must have plans to educate the people about ways to stay safe when earthquake happens. For those people that stay in earthquake-free areas, count your blessings. We must all do our part as a human on this earth to help those less fortunate in any natural disasters.

Yes,nature is mighty. And though we are proud of the advance we made in technology, but when the natural disasters come to us, we find that we are so tiny and sometimes what we are proud of and think beneficial to us may be proved one day can bring catastrophe to us, for example, the nuclear disaster after the earthquake in Japan. Well, as you have suggested, we should be equipped the knowledge of how to do when disasters happen, and more importantly, wish the corresponding department be strict on guidelines and rules to make sure our buildings can stand the earthquake as they should be.

Oh this is why I worry so much about my friends on here from China, so many things have happened over there and some of the young students I used to talk to are no longer posting, I just hope they are ok and just moved on with their lives...

It seems you got lots of chinese friends here in mylot. Don't worry about that, since the earthquake is not big, there is no injures reported. As far as students, i think they don't post recently because the exams are coming, so maybe they are preparing for their exams. You know, to have a high score is so important for chinese students.

How come I don't know these news at all? This is quite strange. And even I can not find the relevant news from Weibo about the earthquake in China. There can be many reasons to cause this situation. And I think that Sanxia Dam has an effect on it. I love China

Haha I don't think that anything will be happen in the year of 2012 and really this is a bad news that so many earthquakes are happening in a single day. I was really very afraid when it struck in our Kathmandu city.
