What I don't understand is why do some managers are unappreciative? I have worked so hard to get to where I am today and one year ago a new person was hired and all of a sudden I became the less individual. Apparently, my manager has forgotten about all the stuffs I've done for the company. I'm the only senior IT person and I should not be treated like this. I feel like all of my efforts are not being appreciated at all, which is why I've decided to leave the company. The more the manager talks about the new IT person, the more I feel like I'm not needed in here. Any advise or know why this happens...feel free to respond.

Don't be hurt by these situation. These often happens in most companies. The managers tend to prefer the newly hired employees because they want to impress the new employee on how good the company is. A lot of favorable attention is invested but this won't be for long. Sooner or later everything will revert to normal. Just relax, take it easy and don't allow your pride to get the best of your performance. This is competition and do your best to excel. You will always meet managers who don't praise or acknowledge your achievements because they do not want others to suffer from low morale. Show your determination and soon enough they will realize that you are still better.

Thanks for the advise yahnee. I appreciate that. I have given him (my manager) several chances to see my great performances. When he realize my determination it will be too late because that's the day I'll resign and he'll regret loosing a great employee. I am tired of hearing about the other person's short performance when I am the one who led that person there. That's the problem, I am not into competition with anyone but when you try to help others some of them just walk over you. At least I got the experience and next time I'll watch out.
