Trickle - down economy has failed us

So, like what our president Barrack Obama says on his 2008 campaign, the trickle - down economy has failed us. Do you still think that our government giving tax break to those wealthy might help boost the economy, since they might invest that money to increase production, or spend that extra money, and it might benefit the poor? Some argue that for my economy to recovered, production must be increased. Since somehow we have some sort of demand in certain areas. Increasing production might help people gain the money to fulfilled their demands. While other people argue, that won't work at all. People's demand is the key factor to our economic recovery. Giving people tax break, increasing their income, they are more likely to spend money, and the government will more likely to make up the tax revenue. What do you think? Or do you think either theory might not work as well?
