For the last 5 years, motorbikes have flooded the streets in Indonesia. Besides it is cheap to go anywhere on a bike, it is also a lot easier to buy motorbikes of all types on credit now. The big number of motorbikes have become one of causes to traffic jams. Road accidents due to careless riding has risen as well. I don't understand the reason why the goverment has issued a new regulation that requires all motorbike riders to turn on the light which is usually switchen at night in other countries.

On my trip around the world I flew from Darwin in Australia to Singapore. From there I traveled over sea and land down to Indonesia. I was heading to Sumatra and it was a very exciting journey indeed. I had to stay overnight in a place full of motorbikes. Apart from that it was very poor and undeveloped. It was noisy with all the motorbikes and the fumes were horrible. It is a shame that motorbikes by far outnumber cars. Think of all the pollution. Road accidents are dangerous and some people can get badly injured or killed. A push bike is cheap and a healthy option somewhere like the Netherlands. Lights are essential after dark but I wonder why during the day.

Hi, nice to chat with you. By the way anytime you visit Sumatera, please pay me a visit. I live in Lampung 100 km from Bakauheni seaport that links Lampung to Jakarta. During your visit to Sumatera, did you go to Kiluan Bay or Tanjung Setia for surfing? Looking forward to hearing from you again.

Yes I know exactly what you are saying. When I go to Indonesia to visit my family and travel around the country. Everytime I visit Indonesiea the number of motorcycles has increased dramatically! There are so many motorcycles and many trucks it is impossible to flow the traffic stream.
