Today, I pass by a gas station 3 miles away from my house, they were running a promotion recently, and they claim if customers paying their gas by cash, the price will be $2.79 per gallon, which is against the current market price of $3.25 per gallon on unleaded gas. Why not, there was a long line of waiting though, and I have to wait about 10 minutes to find a spot. Although it is a small gas station, not those brand name, but it is worth the wait. Now, we are trying to be frugal, and we should get every opportunity to save money. I hope that such promotion tactic can be applied to other gas station too. We can use without the credit card, and strictly on cash base.

Now that is a good price for gas these days. It is worth the ten minute wait for it. I know here where I am, regular unleaded gas is something like 3.85. I remember the days when gas was real cheap. Then the japanese auto makers started to take over. I wonder if it was a deal between the government, the automakers and the oil companies. I bet it was. Thats why we are suffering now.

Pretty smart gas station owner to be wise enough to realize what it costs him to process credit cards and the bookkeeping to keep up with them. He probably is saving money on his end by offering the discount on gas to the consumer and giving the consumer a great deal! Just look at how much you save on a fill up, and if it is justified by waiting in a long line in your time and money, I know I'd be doing it!

Hi Kingparker,
Its good business strategy. Its almost like win-win situation were both customer and the owner also gains. The only thing we have to check is whether th quality of the gas is good for less money. If its good then really its wothable.
Have a nice day my friend.
