Granson keeps eatting bird seed and dog biscuits.  |

|  Our 19 mths old granson lives with us.
He is very well feed and heaps to drink.
As soon as we turn our backs he is into the bird seed and dog biscuits..
We had them but he always finds them.
Gets into the bird cages..
Does anybody else have this problem.

| | Thats the aussie galah, I have many of them Ijustlove birds, so does my granson. I have many types of birds in my aviary.I have Budgies, Canaries,cockateils, finches, galahs, quails, peachfaces,cockatoos lovebirds,corellas,bourkes to name a few.

| |  yes i just told my wife i thought they were galahs.were really into them as well.i think akarikis are my favorite.we kept a whole family of them in the house.they didnt half give my orange wings a hard time

| |  My son has gotten into the dog food. He has also dipped his cup into the dog water and was going to drink it but I caught him before he had the chance. I think he does it because he knows that I'll try to stop him; like it's a new fun game to him. Don't worry, he'll grow out of it.

| |  Maybe he needs some minerals or vitamins found in those things. It's known that children who lack certain minerals are more likely to eat sand than others. Some also suck on matches (the brown part I can't remember the name of).
Ask his doctor to see if he's getting all the vitamins and minerals he needs. It's amazing how kids just help themselves to what they need if they don't get it from their food.

| |  My first reaction Sandy is to say 'feed the child' something. LOL
I think this is just normal for children who like to taste anything and everything they can lay their hands on. Remember many years ago we had friends visit us on the farm and the health centre nurse said the milk had to be boiled, or their young son would get sick. So, boil the milk we did, strained it, let it cool and so on. This went on for 5 days and I was extremely sick of the whole thing. Then on the morning of the 6th day, while his mother was getting the bottle read, I found one little boy sharing his crusts with our pet dog. End of boiling the milk. LOL
Good luck and I am quite sure that he will grow out of it eventually. :)
