the Spring Festival Holidays

The Spring Festival is approaching.People are preparing for it,such as buying all kinds of foods,buying new clothes for the family,and so on.But sticking the spring festival scrolls is typical to the festival.The scrolls describe people's wish for the coming year .The scrolls are made up of three strips of red paper,of which the two longer ones are stuck on the both sides of the doorfame and on which are some wishing sentences .the shorter one also called a horizontal hanging scroll is hung on the up-doorframe.The words on the shorter scoll are,in a way, a conclusion of the words on the two longer ones.The Spring festival is similar to Christmas in western countries. I only know about Christmas from papers,Tv,the internet and other media.Friends,can you tell me something about a traditional Christmas? Thanks.

Actually, only the "wishing" part sounds like Christmas. But Christmas is very difficult to describe because it's so different for everyone. Pretty much everyone buys and gives gifts and kids make their wish lists for the presents that they want. Many people make up Santa Clause who is someone who supposedly brings gifts to children. (works okay for rich kids but not poor kids!) But Christians celebrate the birth of Christ at "Christ-mas" It all depends on what you believe as to how it is celebrated. We usually have a big family meal and enjoy time with our families.
