Every Tuesday evening from 9.00 to 10.00 PM, in my parish, a priest reads the "Gospel of Giovanni."
I go willingly. This is the third year that we organize these readings, we began with "The Genesis of the Bible", then we did "The Exodus, always in the Bible" and this year 's as I say we move in the reading of the Gospel.
The period in which we carry out this activity on Tuesday evening, runs from October until Easter. At that time, we will conclude.
What I found for now in the Gospel of Giovanni is that it differs from the other 3 because it is not "synoptic". That is, others can be read more or less in a similar way, while Giovanni focuses on more detailed particulars of which are not found in others.
Currently we got to read Chapter 8, which recounts the episode of "adulterous woman", the famous phrase of Jesus, "Who is without sin throw the first stone."
As a believer in God, I'm very excited about this initiative. I hope it continues over time, as it is necessary for every believer to know better of his religion.
