hi mylot friends,
Now a days I am practiced to walk daily up to 4 kms from 2 kms, where ever possible I will make it by walk, though the roads are not good for walking ,but there is no alternative roads to walk, so walking is regular to me since 3 months when I am at my place I am walking to my work place from my home and from my work place to home by walking, if any luggage or in late hours I will travel by sharing auto, the auto-wala collect eight rupees per trip from 7 roads Junction to Railway station, we can join any place in between these two places, but the auto-wala charge us rupees eight, so that is my daily savings from eight rupees to sixteen rupees.
Recently I have shifted my family to Secunderabad, at present I does not have any work or office to do, so once in a day I will walk up to Secunderabad railway station from my place means west Maredpalli vice versa, I am accustomed to walk now a days, I did not wish to ride on over crowded buses, but in certain distance places I have to ride on buses or I have to hire Auto Riksha, Auto Riksha is costly affair than the local buses

yes. walking is suggested for people with diabetes problem also. If they walk they consume more energy and sugar level may not increase. However if one can do regular exercise that will be an added advantage.

Walking is a really good workout. As much as possible I usually use stairs instead that I will be using elevator. When I have nothing to do at home,I usually go to mall to have a window shopping and walking anywhere at the mall by enjoying selecting things and the scene of place and people while at the same time making a good exercise.

Walking is always good for all. Doctor usually suggests 4 km. walk but I cannot walk that much. What happened to your shop in Cuddapah? Are you having any shop in Secunderabad? Is your son married?

Walking improves your cardiovascular system. Your overall health will be better if you walk regularly. Walking a long distance will also help reduce weight because walking burns more fat than carbohydrate.
I walk every day and I always feel great.

I am a graduate in PE and I can affirm you that 30 min per day of moderate physical activities can give you many benefits. Your blood pressure drops, colesterol levels drop, blood sugar levels drop, you sleep about 65% better, stress levels drop and you feel less tired in your daily basis!

Walking is really good for one's Health and quite beneficial in other ways as well. I feel it can help people loose weight, get back into shape more, and also just all around feel better about themselves as well. I know too many times, even when people are only 5 mins. walk from where they need to be, often times many of them will drive instead of walk just because that is what they know. Maybe they should consider changing this around?

Never missed on my morning walk...a medium paced one for that matter..for roughly 30 minutes. It is a regular affair to keep myself physically fit. Walking ,perhaps is the best form of exercise. It is easy..it is free...it is less troublesome..

I used to walk a lot too when I was working in one company. But I still have to take a bus when going to my workplace because the office is too far from my home. It will takes 1 hour or more reaching the company. And upon taking off the bus, I will need to walk a bit far since the stop is far from the bridge where I have to cross. I would have to cross that bridge daily, morning and evening after my work to get to the bus stop. Too tiring but I love it as I have noticed I lose my weight during those times.

Hi Yugasini,
I just recently moved job and it is nearer our place. It is not exactly "near" but I can still get home by just walking. The place is really nice plus I will be coming home from work early in the morning so it will be just like an exercise without the sun! Isn't that great? ^^
I like walking. It helps clear my mind whenever I am swamped with so much things to be done
