Actually, I read this article sometime ago, about the corporate strategy of best buy chain stores national wide. They would rather focus on hard selling, like extended warranty to customers than focus on the product knowledge to help customers' needs and wants. Would that be a successful strategy? Maybe they can sell more of those extended warranties to increase their revenue, but the same time, they might gradually losing their customer's loyalty. They should know better, and learn the lesson from Circuit City formerly. What do you think guys?

I read couple weeks ago that Best Buy is nearing BK. Sears is closing 100 of its stores or Kmarts (Sears owns Kmart) and they gave a list of where and probably 85 were sears that they were closing while only 15 or so were Kmarts. THe top reason consumers have given for not going to Sears...bad customer service. So, BB better sit up and take note!

I hate hard selling. I hate a pushy sales person. You're right about this. They should concentrate on the customer more. I am not saying they should not know enough about the product or even try and up sell you, but the customer does come first and without us they have no job. Customer service is the main ingredient.

I personally will not shop at Best Buy because of their return policy. If you didn't know, when you return something you only get a portion of your money back, you do not get a full refund. The reason for this is because they not only charge a service fee for the return, but they also charge you a restocking fee as well. If you are considering buying from them, you might want to rethink that and do some reasearch online. Take it from someone who knows. I will never buy from them again and neither will my family or friends. When I tried to return something I purchased and got only a portion of the money back, I decided to tell my whole family and all my friends. Some of them had already made the same mistake and they no longer shop there. I sincerly hope you do your research as I would hate for the same thing to happen to you. Good luck and happy mylotting.
