How Can I Control My Emotions? If i am in depression!

I know emotions are so powerful. They can effect the way you think, they can make you cry, make you happy, make you in tension, but i think if i am in depression or in bad mood then it will create serious trouble for me, so please advice me if i am in depression then how can i control my emotions?

One thing that always helps me is being here on mylot. I cannot tell you the number of times when I have been feeling depressed and when I come on here it is a kind of release for me. I get to explain the way I am feeling and it is great cause there are always people here who know what I am going through or have gone through it as well. Sometimes the best medicince for being depressed is just talking to someone else who is going through (or has been through) the same thing as you. Another thing that you might want to do is listen to some relaxing music and take a bath, I always find that helps me out. I hope that you realise that it is normal for us to feel depressed from time to time but if this is something that happens to you a lot, you might want to go to your doctor and talk to him (or her) about it. I will follow your discussion with a great interest because I feel I have just the same problem. It is now in winter that I don't have the mood to go out because of the cold weather.But as long as I stay at home I start thinking about such things in my life which make me sad so I feel like crying all the time.

Its a really difficult task. If you're happy , i'd suggest you go for the laugh [shouldn't control your emotions at joyous moments and act like a dummy lol ]
If you're sad , try to think such a thing never happened , and if you're tensed , take a deep breath and tell your mind " i fear nothing " :D
Works for me at certain times...
