To be a government employee will raise your social status

Many graduates are looking for a job. Their preference is to become a government employee. It is now not as easy as it used to be. Realising that getting a job at the government sector is difficult, some, probably most applicants try all methods in order to be accepted. When one has become a government employee, there are opportunities to improve one's career. One should not be worried about the future, because at the end of one's tenure, one can enjoy pension benefit, which will be given as long as one is still alive. This is probably the reason for becoming a government employee. What about you? What do you do to earn a living? Which do you prefer, to be self employed or to work as an employee?

Yes It is an universal truth that almost every people want government jobs.Government jobs provide job security and less labour then private job.But it is not easy. But now a days craze of government jobs is going down. Therefore I prefer to be self employed instead of work as an employee.

Hi, there must be something that makes the craze of government jobs go down. Is it because of restriction to become employees in the government sector? You are right, in fact ,being self employed can generate more income although in terms of job security, self employment is not stable. You have to join a health insurance for old age.

I really noticed that those employees who resigned from our companies, have transferred to government jobs. Some have become policemen and others on office jobs. Though, as far as i know, the pay is lower when you are in a government position. Yes, maybe they are thinking in the long term aspect, that when they retire, they will be given a higher pension. And in addition, they say they have more benefits and one of them is the bonus, which as of last December, regular employees got PhP10,000.00 bonus, on top of their 13th month pay. Wow !

So, the government employees in your country are luckier. In additon to having pension benefit, they receive bonuses as well. But it's strange to me when you said that private employees who resigned could be transfered to become government employees. Probably this is not for all employees in your company.

Yeah, in Indonesia most of graduated people trying them luck to pass the test to be civil servant. Including me, but I failed. There any other way to be accepted. "Bribes", up to $15000. Damn, we are looking for job, but we should pay that much to getting job. So, I prefer to be self employee.

I agree. We'd better become a self employed person. We have freedom to do anything. So what do you do now?

i don't think like that.if your are in good position in your career and success in your life automatically social status will come.now a days govt job is like a distance mountain.compared to govt job pvt companies is offering very good salary and facilities.so all are seeing it equally.in my point of view those who are working in defense for their country will be great.they are having a high social status compared to others
