Landlord is really pissing me off.

He's going on and on about trivial things lately and it's really driving me up the wall. I don't know what's wrong with this guy.
Rent is due on the 1st of the month, and I have to collect it from 2 other people in this house.
I had to work today and couldn't get online to do the transfer from one roommate, so I couldn't give my landlord a specific time for when he could cash the rent cheques. He was angry about that.
Give me a break. I have until 11:59pm to pay the rent. He says the rent is due as of 12:00am on the 1st. What, the bank is open at that time? I'm going to try to collect rent at that time? Hardly.
He wants to charge me money when the rent is late, which is illegal anyways, and I hinted that I could talk to the lawyer clients we work for.
Excuse me for work getting in the way of getting things done. It does happen. Things go wrong sometimes. Money doesn't come in when it's supposed to. Life happens, which he doesn't seem to understand.
I don't know why I have to put up with this crap. If it's not rent, it's the property itself or the animals we have.
He can't tell us that we're not allowed to have pets, and he can't tell me that I can't take care of the cats outside, but he's trying to do this.
He reduces our rent by $150 for me to do the walkway, but he should have paid double that to get the job done right. When I have to pay for supplies and do the work myself, while sick and with a broken foot, how good of a job do you think I will do?
This is driving me nuts, I'm ready to move and get out of this crap. I can't handle him anymore. He frustrates me to no end.

He probably is harassing you in hopes that you will get mad and move out. Sounds like he is succeeding.

We can't leave for at least another year, so it's not really an option and he can't cancel our lease either.

he just wants more money
usually rent always have to be on time, like mortgage
but the other things you said he did,
you're not obliged to do it unless stated in the contract
I live in an apartment myself and have to move out to save money

He's pissed because he should have asked for more money before we moved in. This place is worth more than what we're paying for it, and he doesn't like that fact.
Oh well. I wish I could find something better, but it's just not happening.

Wow! I thought I had it bad with some of the rentals I had in the past! I think I would have moved out of there a long time ago if I was being treated that way by the landlord! I hope that your situation has improved since February and that you are now in good health and have a better living situation. Take care of yourself!

You seem to have had it.I wonder if landlords are all like him. What a rigid landload! The rent is due as of 12:00am on the 1st,the 11:59pm isn't allowable.I remember what you talked in a discussion about sorting out the walkway. He reduces the rent only by $150,he did get his money's worth. The guy is treacherous and ruthless.
