It's Hitler's reign at the office to put it in an exaggerated way. You can't be caught doing something against the liking of our director because one or two of her spies might caught you and rat on you. If you are caught, the spy will surely go to the director and the director will call you to her office and bring down her wrath upon you.
Well, it would be understandable if what you did was something grave like embezzling, destruction of office property, or something that against the rules. But what's incredulous, annoying, ridiculous, pathetic, shallow, unfair is that even giving sullen glances is enough to get you called to the director's office! Another is to joke about the director's size at Facebook (she's big) even if the joke was of good-natured (a co-worker commented jokingly on a photo of the director's sister that the latter seems to be going after the former's size).
It's clear that she takes everything, as in EVERYTHING personally and use it against you and embarrass you at work. ..

Wow. You're director seems like a VERY sensitive person. Usually people would be more open-minded and wouldn't mind a joke or two. But there are people who take everything as an insult to them even if there's nothing offensive about what was said at all.
I'm guessing everyone at the office is now being very careful with what they say.

It's like Martial Law here. We can only joke around when she's not around and when her spies are not around. We sure do get stressed a lot.

Wow...that must be a hard environment to work in. I would have a tough time. I think if I were ever called in to office and she "brought the wrath" upon me, I would ask her what it had to do with my job and when was it that a person controlled your very facial expressions.
I might also be turning the tables on those bird dogs that you mentioned that are watching for her, except I would be legitimate with my complaints and they would be work related. If they are going to that much trouble to watch others, they can't possibly have time to be doing their real job. Everyone has a boss...including that director of yours. If you gather enough of this crazy stuff together..she might be changing her tune after her boss gets informed.

Some of the employees and supervisors actually have thought of sending complaints against our director to the higher ups. They just can't gather solid evidence like a recording of her unprofessional and demoralizing angry speech during their meetings.
It's hard to work in an environment like that especially because we can't know what's on her mind, if she's going to fire us or not. But some things are for sure, she looks back at the past and use it to judge someone. She holds grudges. She doesn't like people who talk back to her. And she's using people's abilities but she's not sincere with her gratitude.

That's so unprofessional of her huh?
Work and personal matters shall never be mixed together. And she being the director, she ought to know it better than anybody else. That's office politics and that's why i hated office bound jobs. Do leave as soon as u can, secret. If u know when your former director is, or if any of his friends are employing, go for them. It's better for your future and career advancement

Yes! They should just use their time productively instead on spying on employees.
