She's still a puppy and is great with the other dogs. She's pretty quiet too, that is until this morning. The guys have gone on a coffee run and she's whining down in their room. She doesn't like being left alone. She scratched on the door as well. My cat Fluffy can hear her and doesn't know what he's hearing. Not sure when they'll be back, but hopefully soon. The coffee shop isn't that far away. She plays with Saber, they are close in age, and Saber loves the fact that she now has another dog to play with, Jazz doesn't play at all. But he tries to dominate her by getting on top of her. It's going to be interesting having 3 dogs in the house, it's hard enough having 2, but 3 is even more of a handful.

I wonder if they didn't take the dog out for a walk before leaving to the coffee shop or maybe the dog just misses them? I hope they'll be back soon and you can let them know. They won't want to make the dog wait to use the bathroom or even eat. Though I'm willing to bet it's more likely that she misses them.

She'd been out just before they went out, and she's been out quite a few times since they brought her home. Separation anxiety for sure. They are back and she's quiet now. I think when she heard them come in upstairs, she quieted down. She'll get used to it, it will just take some time.

Beagles are a needy breed, my dad bred them when I was little and now I have a beagle/border collie mix and they seem to really want a lot of attention, more so than some other breeds..They also are working dogs, so this dog will be happier if she is kept busy. Plus, she is a puppy, and ALL puppies miss their mom the first few weeks, so I hope this one settles in soon..:)

There is no way that I would want that many in the house. It is bad enough with a cat and a wheelchair always under your feet. Good luck.

Then you combine it with cats and rodents and that is a problem, perhaps. It is fortunate that your landlord, so far, has not put his foot down.

Awww....she sounds so cute. It really is a handful having that many animals. I should know. I have two cats and three dogs, but they are worth the trouble. They are my babies & I love them. They are also very good company for me when my husband is at work.

I was going to ask what your Community policy is on how many pets you can have in your home? Some communities only allow 2 dogs and cats others it is different. Also what about dog licenses? We have people who actually come to your home and will ask to see your dog's tags otherwise you get a fine. As to the beagle he/she sounds like a little darling and obviously being a baby, doesn't like being alone, especially with being in a new home, with new smells and sounds. On one hand it is good to leave and come back in short spells, to help the pet get used to the owner coming and going. But going for long periods of time will create anxiety issues with the pup, which could lead to destructive problems in the home.

Dogs especially puppy doesn't want to be left alone. Yes, you are right, it will take time before she will get used to being left alone inside. I am expecting my doggie to give birth next week and my kids are too excited with the new puppies
