the shock of lamps

I just got shocked by an old princess house lamp. This morning I noticed that the bulb was out again and I swear I had just changed it a few weeks prior. These are supposedly long life bulbs. So this morning I tried to put one in, I turned it maybe a bit too tight, it turned on but then I loosened it and it turned off, wouldn't turn back on. I just checked it now, the bulb is dead. I tried another bulb, the lamp turned on and then off, when I was unscrewing the bulb a second later, it shocked me. A little zing to my finger.
I guess the lamp has a short in it somewhere or something. Maybe it can be fixed, it'd be a sghame if it chouldn't but I guess it will sit up there without a bulb for a long time.
Have you ever been shocked by a lamp?

There's definitely a problem with your wiring. It's better if you have it checked by an electrician. There's also a possibility that it's more than a busted lamp. Sometimes the voltage maybe too strong for the wires of your lamp to handle making the bulbs bust out. Why not try screwing those bulbs in on another lamp. If they light up, then it's definitely your old princess lamp that has a problem.

We've been using just plain bulbs and it's a two way type lamp, but it's been done for years so I don't know that that is it. We got it to work but it was a trick and I ain't screwing another bulb in this one again.

I was, once. But I was shocked switches more than once. I didn't know there's something wrong with it until I touch it. Certainly woke me up. Not to mention, I was also shocked by PCs in my old company a few times before until the technician said the building's Earth wire wasn't properly installed.
