Nascar Driver becoming a parent - help you become more focused or distraction?

Many of the Nascar drivers have recently had kids. The Harvicks just announced that they are pregnant which now makes sense of why they sold KHI. Was wondering if you thought having kids make NASCAR drivers more focused to drive for the championship? or they become a distraction - realize there is more to life then just driving? I believe that is the case that when have kids, you realize your job and career are not as important anymore - even it being your life long passion that. Don't have any stats to prove it but believe once have kids no longer have the time and dedication it takes to be a NASCAR champion
