With a fabulous win in the second T20, Indian cricket team had raised the hopes of its millions of supporters but that proved to be just an aberration. Indian team carried its batting woes from test series to O.D.I. series and Australia thrashed them by 65 runs in a rain curtailed 1st match of the triangular series played at M.C.G. at Melbourne. Indian bowlers did well to restrict Australia, who were put into bat by Dhoni after winning the toss, to 35 for 2 in 11 overs before rain stopped play for almost 3 hours. the match was then restricted to 32 overs a side. Wade continued his good work in T20s to score 67 of just 69 balls and helped Australia to recover from slow start to close at 216 with the help of Hussey brothers. India in reply could not cope up with the fast pace of MCG and regular pace bowlers of Australia and slumped to 151 all out giving Australia a superb win by 65 runs. How this Indian side copes up with Sri Lanka remains to be seen and that will decide the chances of Indian team reaching the finals of this tri series.

How you can say that bowlers did well ????
Hell they do well. They go crazy like when the score 35/2 in 11 over how they reach 200 haha that is good bowling?? Spinners don't name them. They bowler like idiot.
Well batting was more superb then what bowlers did. These batmen should be applauses for what they did.
I now pureply belive that INDIA is out of this serioes and soon they will come with th cups yeah cups of tea/coffe which they drinks instead of playing and yean those sweet memoeries of beaches and cycling and praduse of australia.

Hi rajiv, I do not agree with your views. Bowlers indeed did better than the batsmen. Yesterday's match on resumption post rain became a T20 match and you can not always expect the bowlers to restrict a team like Australia bellow the rate they scored yesterday. They scored 181 in 21 overs. That is like normal T20 score. Indian batsmen could not manage that score.

As about winning this triangular series we have to wait and see how Sri Lanka performs here. They look to be better than India in preparation for this tour as they have got good experience in playing on similar type of pitches in South Africa and they did creditably well in O.D.I. series after loosing test series. India will do well if they could reach finals of this series. Let us not loose heart at this moment we can always hope to achieve that. Cheers rajiv.

I saw a part of the Indian reply and felt that the Indians were playing too many shots in the air.One could not miss a touch of over confidence and cheek when Kohli and Rohit were batting and it did manage to get under the skin of some of The Australian commentators. India may have lost this one but if it continues its attacking style of play Australia will wilt. Better to be aggressive and positive. Defensive cricket cannot even save you a test match. The seniors have to deliver more consistently. India is a great one day side

Hi fannekhan,
I see positivity in your preview. "India may have lost this one but if it continues its attacking style of play Australia will wilt. Better to be aggressive and positive..
Aggressive and positive would not go hand in hand especially with our Indian brothers. I have seen many crickets. when they are aggressive they have won less and lost more. This is so because when they are aggressive they are so like a blind tiger. It attacks without precaution. Have not you seen them playing in the air and the Aussies jumping them to hold then out. I do not reckon T20. One such win is like a lolly pop. They should wind up and come home. No use playing against the Australian Team. Lost the Test, Lost the ODIs, and what remains their?
Let them play some test against Ireland, Bangladesh, Canada or Zimbabwe.

Hi msdivkar,
In my opinion, India should stop playing too many cricket and Tendulkar should soon ca;ll it a day. I wonder why he is blocking a a place for a young and aspiring one? Is he waiting for his 100 centuries?
No 1 Test team slip down to no 3 that to in style!!!!
Why the same players are being played match after match? Are not they human being? They need rest. If the performance has gone down it is because of this strain.
Virtually I have stopped watching cricket of late.

I agree with you partly krajibg. Sachin should retire some day but at the moment he is still playing better than most of the players and he feels that there is quiet a bit of cricket left in him. Let us leave him aside. The basic problem with Indian batsmen is their non familiarity of playing on fast bouncy pitches. They can beat any team on their surfaces. It is therefore the responsibility of B.C.C.I. to see that enough fast pitches, similar to that in Australia or South Africa, are prepared at home so that the players touring in such areas get accustomed to such pitches.
