I live in southern United States. We see many deer. We see fox, wolves, bobcats and hear many coyote. But recently, the panthers have been scaring the beejeesus out of us. I spotted one across the road the other night from my daughter's at about 9:00, and my son'n law spotted one at the other end of the land last night. Kind of spooky. They are mean!

Wow! It sounds like you have plenty of amazing wildlife living close to where you live. There are foxes around near to where I live therefore a rabbit needs to be in a strong cage after dark. It is indeed spooky if panthers are now in our neck of the woods. I hope they won't go near any of the people. I traveled to Mexico, Belize and Guatemala five ago. I heard the calling of a jaguar when I was looking around some Mayan ruins. It was wonderful to hear but not see. If I saw the jaguar I guess that I would have been in danger. Good luck.

I love to see the animals but I also love to hear them. People think I am nuts when I go to the edge of the wooded areas because I have heard something, but I have never ever heard any story of anyone around here being attacked by them. Only seeing them and hearing them. I love it myself.

When humans killed off most of the preditory animals, the prey animals started to overpopulate. Now that the deer population is so high, it gives the preditory animals lots of food to eat. They are just trying to go back to where they once lived. We are the ones who put them out of their original homes. It shows that there might be a healthy envioroment going on where you live. Hopefully you can live with these wild animals and not get hurt or hurt them. Humans are the ones who fooled with Mother Nature and now we are seeing the consiquences.

Hey oscarbartoni. I never looked at it that way, but it is so true not that you mention it. I don't know of them hurting anyone so far ever. So maybe everything will work out alright as long as they have plenty of deer for food, and believe me, there's no shortage of them here!

My brother n low said somebody named tommy saw a mountain lion and cubs, but i really have never heard of anything like that being around here, but what do I know. Everyone looks for bigfoot too, but I think he's mostly in norther areas and swam over from Hawaii or somewhere.
