when cooking?
I prefer Olive oil as it is less fat content. Sunflower is a great alternative.
What do you use?

I forgot that it isn't good for baking! I've not tried grape seed oil, what would you use it with?

At home, we usually use Vegetable oil or canola oil. We don't really use Olive oil since it's expensive around here. As much as possible, if we can avoid using non-vegetable oil, we do it. It's better to use something that's healthy for your heart and for your health, healthy for the whole family.

I use mostly Olive oil and sunflower oil. Though I have used corn oil, it is similar but tastes a little differently, but like palm oil and peanut oil, it is quite expensive now. Soya oil and Grape seed oil mix are available here and are not too expensive but I still prefer the taste of the olive/sunflower oil. The thing is butter and margarine(vegetable spread) are good too, it depends on what I am making.

I use mostly sunflower oil for cooking except for some special foods like eggplant dips or zuchinni appetizers. I use olive oil for salads and over some dishes, such as risotto.

I actually usually use cooking spray, because I try to eat healthy and Olive Oil has a lot of calories in it. I know it can be healthy for you depending on how much and what type you use, but cooking spray just makes me feel better since I know it has zero calories. I'm sort of a control freak! Olive Oil tastes the best though, in my opinion.
