This group 'One Million Moms'(OMM)is very self-righteous. It's their way or no way. They were trying to boycott JCPenny because Ellen is their new spokesperson. It kinda backfired on them. Clip from Ellen's show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zNKTTtAXCs Yesterday on OMM's facebook page they were talking about all their haters that have spammed their fb page so now they need to 'clean house'. In other words, they are going to delete all the posts that have a different view than theirs. They said that they must be doing something right because everyone is spamming their fb page. They compared themselves to Jesus, and they compared the people with different views to the people who crucified Him. The post is no longer there. I should have copied and saved it, but I didn't. It was a very rude post and just made them look worse. They used quotes from the Bible and called people with different views bigoting spammers. Their mission statement: "Where Christian moms stand up for their children. Let your voice be heard!" I honestly don't understand why they think they are standing up for their children by being this way. Here is the One Million Moms fb page http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151226163900298&set=a.10150718242095298.722829.201862245297&type=1&theater#!/onemillionmoms?sk=wall Below are 3 other fb pages that don't support them. 1 Million Moms Against OMM https://www.facebook.com/1MillionMomsAgainstOMM Boycott One Million Moms OMM http://www.facebook.com/pages/Boycott-One-Million-Moms-OMM/235833206504450 One Million Intelligent People Against One Million Moms https://www.facebook.com/pages/One-Million-Intelligent-People-Against-One-Million-Moms/311184295599112?ref=ts How do you feel about Ellen being the spokesperson for JCPenny? What are your thoughts on One Million Moms?

HeresTheScoop ..I heard Ellen speak about this on her TV show yesterday...These Moms really believe gay is wrong and so they think by speaking up they protect their children. In fact they probably feel it is their moral duty to speak up. I think they need to think about the rule.."judge not"

Yes, I think they need to consider that rule also. It's so ironic how people use the Bible to judge and condemn others when it clearly states that we are not to do those things.

HeresTheScoop ..True...they really believe Gay is wrong and so it is really hard to tell them differently. The Bible is often abused in my opinion...

The thing is, is that when I don't agree with someone's opinions or beliefs I don't just dismiss them as wrong. I'll ask them to explain why/how they believe it to be that way. And I still might not agree, but I accept that I don't have a right to make them believe what I do. But, now that I wrote that, maybe I just need to accept that not everyone is like that?

Well, I don't what JCPenny is and I couldn't open their ONEMILLION MOM FB Page, well it doesn't matter. The only thing I want to say is I agree to what Ellen said "I stand for equality, honesty, kindness, compassion, treating the people the way you want to be treated and helping those in need". There are a lot of people out there who claims they are christians but totally forgets the real meaning of being a Christian. They think just because your different you are sinful and should be treated badly, well that's not ideal at all. Ellen is such a nice person, I don't know her personally but she is fun, nice, kind, smart, helpful, compassionate, only GAY.. But so what if she is GAY.. it's not a big deal. I don't see a problem with that. It's not your gender preference that will define the kind of person that you are. They are just ignorant to think that way..

Well, we think the same way on this subject! I love your sentence - It's not your gender preference that will define the kind of person that you are. So true! JCPenny is a medium to upscale clothing/homelines/accessories store usually found in malls. It's one of those stores that when you first walk in there's the huge perfume/makeup counter.

Hi HeresTheScoop! I think there are a lot of people out there that think that their way is the only right way. This club sounds like they are some of those people. I have to say that if Ellen's values are what she said they were in that video...who cares if she's gay or not? She sounds like she is alot better person than most. I hate it when people put themselves on a pedestal and attack other people. I know it wouldn't take me long to drop every one of those 40,000 members like a hot potato if I had had anything to do with them and they treated someone...anyone..not just Ellen...in that manner. I think the biggest shame is that this is just a small example of a bigger issue that had plagued our society and the people in it for a very long time. Extremists have hurt people for their beliefs, or the fact that they didn't follow theirs throughout history. Great discussion!

Yes, you're right - this is just a small example of a bigger issue. From what I've seen and heard, Ellen's values really are what she said. And I'm sure that some of those have became stronger because of how she has been treated in the past. But that's part of life, right? Living with good and bad experiences and learning from them.
