The Big Bang Theory is one of my favorite comedies and I try to watch every time it is on. I hope these couple of lines are enough to buffer a possible spoiler. In the episode on Feb. 09, 2012, the president of the university tells Sheldon that he must taken the vacation he has accumulated. Of course Sheldon doesn't want to do this. The other guys were suggesting things he could do or places he could go and he was shooting them all down. One suggestion was that he could go to Hawaii and I got a kick out of one of his reasons for not going that also made me a little sad. That reason was that it was where the disappointing ending of Lost was filmed. I got a kick out that because I agree completely that the ending episode of Lost was very disappointing and it made me sad because it reminded me that they had ended such a great show in a very disappointing way. Anyway Sheldon ends up trying to work with Amy, his sort of girl friend, doing biology. Of course he assumes that biology would be easy for him but he keeps failing at everything she asks him to do from washing glass ware to dissecting a small part out of a brain.

I really like the TBBT dynamic and I can see Sheldon having a real problem with the real world, Sheldon belittles all the other sciences so it would be fun him not being able to do something that he believes he should master. The TBBT is one of those shows that often references other shows, I really like that about it, because this is just an example, how many times have we seen say a murder mystery show and think, where are the CSI guys that trace over there will solve the crime immediately, a few seasons back when the apartment was robbed Sheldon expected a full forensic team to find the burglars. The Lost reference, that is a show that became so confused within itself that they walked themselves into a point in which no matter what ending was chosen, it would never allow for all the stories to be wrapped up. I always remember them saying that they knew exactly how Lost was going to end when they started the first season, so it was a little confusing how after 5 years they were not able to perfect it, I didn't find it too disappointing, but I did find the fact that it left more questions unanswered then it actually answered a little annoying.

I love The Big Bang Theory! I missed last night's episode although I read a synopsis for it. They left out the line about Lost. That's a pretty good line!
