I observed every one usually buy things and goods for their lovely family or friends during traveling. I usually doing it on the last day or hours before depart back to my hometown. I notice many tourism stalls or shops offer many souvenirs with the signature or characteristic of our travel destination. However, sometimes we traveling to many travel spots where they having different characteristics.
Next thing to consider is kind and quantity of the goods. I also loved to bought snacks, key chains, magnet or anything small stuffs for my office mates so that I could buy in big quantity and distribute fairly, also not add my baggage weight..however, for family a t-shirt or hat also favorite stuffs to be bought..
How about you? Have you had any fun and unique experience to buy something during traveling?

I always buy presents for my family and my friends when I visit another country. I think it is fun to go shopping when I visit a new place, and I always try to find something that my friends and my relatives will like. Last time I bought jewelries for my mother and my mother-in-law, and candles, chocolate and many other things for my friends. I also bought a few things for myself like a some cds with the local pop and rock music (I collect music from around the world) a mug and a wall calender. When I am going to visit Asia this year or next year I also plan on buying many things for my friends and my family and a few things for myself.

I adore buying a costume doll for my collection. You see at home I have a collection of dolls from many different countries. I like to buy a t-shirt for my mom and a fridge magnet for my sister. I have a few fridge magnets on my own fridge door too. I bought a toucan in Colombia. It is a model one not a real one. When I traveled around the world I sent home parcels with souvenirs and photo negatives in. I went to Indonesia and there found a model house and two lovely costume dolls. Years later in Romania I bought a carved wooden doll. In South Africa a few years ago I bought a set of bead dolls. They look like a family which is sweet. I am keen on buying native handicrafts.

I like to buy some souvenirs for my loved ones, but I don´t buy them in the last minute. Most of the time I walk by somethingh that I feel would be something one of them might like and I buy it. As I´m usually in the same place for all my stay, I don´t have to carry all the things I buy to many places.

It can't be more normal for one to buy his family some souvenirs during his trip. When my elder sister went to TianJin, a captital city in China, she brought us some stuff every year. And what impressed me most was a pair of little sulptures. Even if they are not expensive and exquisite, i liked them very much because they were endemic. If i was admitted by my dreaming university this year, i would have a further study in the north of China, where is totally distinct from my hometown. And i would bring home some special stuff there during holidays. It must be interesting.

One of the things that you have to remember is the fact that you have to be able to get everything home somehow, and if you buy too much you might find that you have to pay extra for it at the airport which would add a fair amount of money to the amount that you have to pay on your holiday. Some countries will ship larger items abroad, and you might find that it is easier to do this than it is to pay for the excess baggage yourself at the airport. I like to buy things which are unique and can only be bought in that country, such as jewellery that has been made by locals, or maybe some clothing from a store that does not exist in your country.

Whenever I have the chance to travel, I always buy something for each of my family members even if it is a small souvenir of my travel. I tend to buy keychains, t-shirts, candies and toys, etc for them. It is just a nice feeling to me when I give them all gifts upon my return from my travelling and they are happy to receive whatever I get them. I don't tend to buy a lot of stuff though since you are only allowed a certain amount on the airplanes...
